Mastering Modern Clinical Supervision: Advancing Your Practice with Contemporary Approaches to Cultural Competence, Technology, and Professional Standards

This comprehensive 3 hour supervision training prepares mental health professionals to excel as clinical supervisors in today's evolving therapeutic landscape. Participants will develop essential competencies across critical domains of modern supervision practice.

The program begins with foundational supervision models, examining different approaches while exploring their practical application in diverse clinical settings. Participants will learn to select and adapt supervision models based on supervisee needs, experience levels, and clinical contexts.

This training emphasizes culturally responsive supervision practices, addressing power dynamics, and creating inclusive learning environments that honor diverse perspectives and experiences. Issues related to how cultural identity, bias, and systemic factors impact both the supervisory relationship and client care will be addressed.

Training will include a detailed review related to the emerging role of artificial intelligence in clinical supervision, including ethical considerations, potential applications for training and documentation, and maintaining the human-centered core of supervisory relationships while leveraging technological tools responsibly.

Finally, participants will be provided “best practices” in supervision, including documentation standards, evaluation processes, gatekeeping responsibilities, and legal/ethical obligations. The training ensures supervisors can effectively support students while meeting CACREP program accreditation  expectations.
